Hello! Welcome to my blog.

I’m Carolina — though many people know me as Mama Sosa. I came to Canada, became a citizen, and live in Ontario with my husband, my two teenager children (pray for me!), two budgies, and our beautiful little ragdoll cat.

A few years ago, I stepped away from the corporate world and started my own venture. Since then, I’ve changed my professional path in 360°, met amazing people (and a few not-so-amazing ones), failed, started over… and most importantly, LEARNED MORE THAN I EVER IMAGINED, and this is priceless!

In recent years, I’ve also put myself into volunteer work — both at my church and in local community events. Each experience is a school!  And while I’ve loved every moment of it, I’ve come to realize that I still want to give and share more.

That’s why I started this new chapter — one focused on sharing what I’ve lived and learned, with the hope of helping others.

Now let me be clear: if you’re here for immigration consulting, advice on how to come to Canada as a student, cost-of-living, or job-hunting tips… well, this is not that kind of blog!⚠ There are already plenty of specialized sites and social media accounts that cover those topics in very much detail.

Here, I will tell you about those things that we usually paint in rose-colored tones, the things no one tells you, or understanding them requires reading and reading (and re-reading) official websites.

I talk about what real life looks like here: education, health care, winter, home life, and all the things that can truly make a difference when living in Canada. Whether you’re just arriving, counting the days until you land, or have lived here for a while and still find yourself figuring things out, I’ve got you!😄

Take this as an example: when we first landed in Canada, I made it a mission to understand the elementary school system. But fast-forward a few years later, when my kids transitioned to high school, it completely caught me off guard! Every story I share here comes from my real-life experience as a mom living in Canada, especially in Ontario.

Thank you for stopping by. I’m so glad you’re here!🤗
